Te haerenga i TaupōnuiāTia

Take a look at the wonderful times we had the noho marae in TaupōnuiāTia.

He reka te kai o Whaea Kaleb mā. Namunamua !

Our view of the maunga from the marae.

Looking at Lake Taupo with Tongoriro and Pihanga in the background.

Bathing our feet in the pool was so relaxing after walking around the prawn farm.

Prawn farming was fantastic. We sat fishing for prawns over two hours. We were focused on catching them. The whānau caught 45 prawns which we took back to the marae as a koha for Whaea Trish.

Mau rakau

Te mau rakau

Whaea T and Whaea Wai came to our school to teach Te Whakatipu Kakano the basic commands of mau rakau. This session was our first time with the rakau. For many of us, we found that mau rakau is the beginning of a new passion. Mauri came into our class to teach us more of his knowledge with the rakau which we performed at the hui ā kura. We demonstrated twelve basic commands.Whaea Cindy was really proud of us. We will continue to develop our skills and knowledge up until the end of the year.
